Can a heated driveway be added to an existing concrete surface?
Yes. Surface-bonded heating mats can be applied to existing concrete without a full tear-out. Heat transfer is not as efficient as embedment during a new pour, but it is a practical option when the slab is otherwise in good condition.
What happens if I delay installing a sensor control?
Without an aerial moisture sensor, the system runs on a manual timer. In Boulder’s mix of dry cold snaps and wet heavy snowfalls, a timer-only setup frequently misses overnight refreeze events, leaving the surface icy by morning despite the system running.
How much will a heated driveway add to my energy bill?
